The Youth Mobile Clinic is a dynamic, community-based pilot project designed to provide accessible, youth-centered health and wellness services directly in the spaces where young people live, learn, and gather. Staffed by an integrated team of social workers and nurses, the clinic’s mission is to “meet youth where they’re at”—both physically and emotionally—breaking down traditional barriers to care.
During the school year, the mobile clinic travels to high schools across Windsor-Essex, offering on-site, confidential drop-in support for students, school staff, and parents. In the summer months, it shifts into neighbourhoods and community hubs to remain visible and available to youth when school-based access is paused.
This low-barrier model delivers a wide range of supports, including:
The Youth Mobile Clinic creates a safe, non-judgmental environment where young people feel heard, supported, and empowered. Whether a student needs a listening ear, a medical consultation, or guidance finding longer-term help, staff are there to provide immediate, compassionate support—and to connect families with the right providers for continued care.
By removing logistical and emotional barriers, the Youth Mobile Clinic helps build trusting relationships, encourage early intervention, and foster a culture of well-being in both school and community settings.
Oversight of the Youth Mobile Clinic includes the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB), the Regional Children’s Centre and the Windsor Essex County Health Unit.
